Happy Merry Christmas

After a hectic few weeks, and a distinct lack of blogging action, we would like to wish all of our blog readers a very Happy Merry Christmas (which is what people say to each other here in Cambodia).

We had a wonderful Christmas celebration service on Sunday afternoon with over 100 people squeezing into our building. Even with three air conditioners and various fans on full blast it was rather hot by the end! We asked the question “What is Christmas all about?” in the service. As part of this we showed a couple of videos we had made in the local market where we asked people this question. To see their answers (with English subtitles) check out the videos below:

We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas meal together afterwards (funded by a special offering we had held the previous Sunday) and then indulged in a spot of traditional Khmer dancing as well as joining in the rather less traditional “Gangnam Style” craze.

Becci and I are now taking a well deserved break over Christmas, and have the joy of having my parents visit us for a couple of weeks over the holiday season. Its been great fun having them with us including witnessing their incredulity at spending Christmas in the heat and at the beach!
